I think that Vegetenarian is putt'n da spam to us....... Grim'-do they screw to the rim edge or the center?
Actually they are numbered 01 - ?? so if you really do want a low numbered set you should get in early...I****ume you were half joking. choprods - They screw to the outside of the rim...just like an old Moon disk.
Kevin -- Did you provide the covers for Jim Lattin's vintage lakester or is he running an old set? No matter, you have a great idea and a beutiful product. I'm betting that your covers will inspire some new builds. Mike
Site looks awesome, the logo is rad. Nice to finally have a goodlooking alternative to moon disks. What else is in the works? You guys should put a few "guerilla marketing" sets on some bonneville cars for exposure maybe?
aV8....Holy Hilbourn Streamliner Batman!!!! Hey Harrison, are you seeing this!????? That car is beatiful...Do ya have anymore pics Mike???? Not sure I pictured the original with red wheel covers, but it sure looks good... Wonder if the clone will run 150mph???
AV8, ditto on the above comment, That car would have to be in my top 3 favourite cars of ALL TIME. If ever there was an example of a pioneering hot rod, that for me, is it. Would love to see/hear more......Grim, love the discs as well. A.
By the time I do it, it may be a clone of a clone of a clone... but I'll have a Hilborn streamliner someday. JH
Those are******in. I'd be interested in some 15" myself. Would they be the same price prepped for paint? Can I ask a potentially dumb question? I've never had moon disks either, so when you screw into the wheel do you run the risk of loosing air? How does that work?
Nice, very nice. Do you have any plans to pop the "laquers" off? Like the ones seen on Tony Nancy's 22Jr. car? (the flathead powered one), the early Glass Slipper and the early 334 Coupe?? They would be most easily made... and most******en to have... polished... mmmmmmmmmm!! Sam.
Grim replies to all of my posts crying about me bashing repop bomber seats. Honestly, I like the bomber seats and pulled out my wallet to buy them for my 3 window. Untill a close friend asked me how many store-bought parts are going on a real Bonneville race car. The question hurt because he was right and the seats are bad****. The guy building those bomber seats is doing a great job... so good in fact that they will be in every junk car this time next year. These disks dont speak to junk-rodders, they are old timey and apeal to the four-banger Riley crowd. Different altogether. I guess I am more upset about how many people are building these cars now then what is being reproduced. I dont like crowds, I dont like intros without hotrods (most are these days), I dont like***** cars, and I dont like the fact that anything can be bought with a Visa card. I dont go to car shows because I am embarrassed by who likes my cars. I am angry about being part of the "in" crowd. It has nothing to do with you Grim so pull your***** out of my****. I had store-bought stuff on my last 34 and my freinds gave me grief for it, if you dont have friends like that, good for you. I'm glad they gave me*****, the higher standard is what I enjoy about what we do. I do like those disks. Total museum quality. They will never be popular so they will always be cool.
Grim, those are very cool, how long will it be until their ready for delivery? I might order a couple sets. I think your onto something.--TV
Killer Design Kevin...I'm also down for a set of 15"'s... Maybe I should have you do my Company Web Site Too... Very Nice! Mike
av8 - Thanks for posting those pictures. I had heard someone was cloning that car but had never seen photos. Of course a person would have to be blind not to realize that Hilborn's car was a huge inspiration. To answer your question - I did not supply those discs - but I wish I had gotten the chance. (And check your last post about the flathead block if you would.) Django - I'll see how things pan out with the fifteens. Supply and demand you know. But sorry, I'm not set up to prep for paint. Gooch - Glad you like them. The rest of that post kind of blind sided me so just let it be known that I am pulling out and won't be joking anymore. Done. TV - Just in case anyone isn't clear on this, they are in stock right now. I need to send you some photos of recent progress on my car. Almost forgot. Sam - No real plans for those covers but I will take your input into consideration. I do have some other things in the works, but there will be no promises until product is ready to go out the door - I think that's how this type of business should work. Thanks again, - k e v i n l e e -
I like the way you work, kevin. It makes me forget about the squabble we had a while back. Forgot what it was already... Anyway, doing business like you're doing is awesome... not that you have to be all secretive and*****... but damn, people starting hype to get something off the ground is just that... hype. You got your***** together... have a solid product for a niche market... and have them ready to ship when the web-site hits the net... done deal. Sam.
Now... what about re-popping Hallock windshields for '29 Roadsters? Anything else... is uncivilized. Sam.
