The roadster, which has Wilson Welding finned backing plates and 45 fin Buick drums all around, made an annoying "Chirp-Chirp-Chirp" noise that seemed to be coming from the left front. This got worse with right hand turns, and stopped with hard left handers. I thought it was probably the drum (originals up front which had been machined to fit early Ford backing plates) kissing the (much thicker) Wilson backing plate. Today I got some ambition and pulled the wheel and drum, and sure enough, just at the top of plate was this little contact point. A couple minutes with a 4.5" grinder took a few thousands off, and no more chirping noise. On the down side, the cheap-o Baby Moon cap (the damn things dent SO easily putting them on) must not have been seated right and it popped off on hard right hander testing it out. Smacked an oncoming car, which happened to be driven by a high-school cl***mate I hadn't seen in 50 years but recognized me! Happily no damage, except to the hubcap.
