I cut off the old bushings to my stabilizer bar since they were shot but the new ones don't seem to fit. The end of the bar has a circular end that is perpendicular to the actual stabilizer bar and welded on. The hole that the new bushing has is only large enough for the bar itself and will not fit over the end. How do I get this thing on the bar without ruining the bushing?

everyone ive ever seen are already cut or split so they just go right over the bar without taking it off the car. like this. look close you can see the slice.

Hmmm..... I though of cutting it, but I thought asking you guys would be a better idea before I ended up ruining them.

Sounds like making a cut will be the only thing I can do. Thanks for the advice guys.

Cut it on one side, grease it with ch***is grease so it wont squeek, screw it together and hit the road.

If you want to improve handling you can go this route:http://www.energysuspension.com/products/Sway-Bar-End-Link-Bushings.html O'Reillys had these in stock for my '54 (3/4' sway bar) get the ones with the zert fittings, it will show you in the lower chart how to measure for the end links cost was under $30 for everything and it will improve handling noticeably. Took about 30 minutes to install.
