Has anyone here ever made their own stainless mouldings? What I want to make would be (in my humble estimation) pretty simple stuff on a long, flat quarter panel. I wouldn't even know how to go about acquiring the stuff, but once I figure that out, how do you bend it gracefully, and trim / dress out the edges and ends?

Any tips would be much appreciated.
    TIA

Is it more complicated than I'm thinking? I guess I could get some Pep Boys chrome door trim and have at it..

There are all sorts of places to buy stainless. Try www.mcmaster.com

If you get some plate that's 1/16 inch thick, you could gently bend it to simple curves by hand. Use a grinder to shape it the way you want.

This is pretty simple metalworking. Get some material, and have a go. Post some pictures if you have problems.
