When your company is so broke it can barely afford to have cars built in Mexico... I don't mind the idea if he's supporting sponsors by trying to help them sell a car or two, so maybe the sponsors will still be in business next year. No different than going to the all-Pontiac or all-Buick show here, they hold them right at car dealer lots. As long as they're not competing for trophies -
I'll be at Tulsa but I dont give a RIP about freekin new cars being there its bad enough to see them everyday while your out driving but not at a hot rod show......
Darryl is a great guy! the show is a good event. I dont like the new cars but looking at the hot models they hire to stand next to them is always fun. Tulsa, I'll see you there! And hey the Wichita Eagle news paper interviewed me and put a nice pic of the top of my head on their website! LOL FRITZ http://www.kansas.com/static/slides/011609carshow/
Well put. I grew up in Topeka, and this year marks 20 years since the last Topeka Rod and Custom show.
He's low key; he might not interact with everyone the way they'd like, but you'd be hard-pressed to find very many people who would agree with your opinion.
Yep, show had about 2/3s what it had 2 years ago when I was there. One big room was full of nothing but new cars. Banner said it was the Wichita Auto Dealers ***. I didn't even walk through, did peak at the new Challenger....
Darryl is a great guy and I think with what he has done in the area of Kustoms that we should all support him. I was really surprised that there were not more HAMB people out there. He is after all one of the guys who was really there in the beginnings and actually did build cars back then. We won't have guys like that around forever so we should enjoy them while we have them I say.............
