   Which turns an engine over faster, a 9 tooth or 11 tooth starter pinion? Which one has more torque?

   ***uming that they can... and all else being equal...
   
   The 11 tooth will turn the engine over faster. The 9 tooth will provide more torque.
   
   Think of the gearing on a 10 speed bike.
