    Wired wrong or when he tightened starter wires has them crossing each other and making contact.
     
  3. Wrong motor. Put a 327 in it and it will be fine.

    I bet this is the problem. Hopefully it didn't fry the solenoid. I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks.
