I bought a Chrome Kit for a Chevy Starter and i am in the process of doing the Changeover, and i notice the brackets the hold the brushes to the Case are Riveted on. How are you supposed to attach them to the new Case? Is there a Tool available to re rivet them, or can i use some short Bolts/Machine screws to re attach them?

    Thanks in Advance!

The guys that rebuild starters have a tool. Hammer and punch is the way outside of owning a correct tool.

I would have thought that the chrome housing would already have the brackets in place.

Best plan is probably to take both to the local rebuilder/auto electric shop and ask how they would do it and hope that they offer to do it for a very reasonable cost.

Tabs like that get bent when using a hammer and chisel too;)
