    i have no previous experience w/ building hot rods but i am dying to learn! i read a lot but what would be the best way to start. ie. cheap projects, what cars are best to start, where are some organized meetings/shows around my area to talk to other rodders (i live in big rapids, MI). thanks for all your help.

    Welcome, and you can learn a lot right here on the hamb. A good start would be to look through the tech area on the hamb for ideals on how things are done. As for a project think about what interest you. You need to consider what skills are required for a project vehicle before you buy. What skills do you have and/or friends have that can help. There are a lot of projects for sale because people do not realize what it takes to complete one or the cost. Look at the threads that show progress pictures and you can get an ideal what it takes. If you have a question then post a reply. Find others in your area and offer to help out with there project to learn how it is done.
