Traded a local guy for plain fenders, got the '40 wheels with staggered 'Stones, now to start the ch***is. The plan is to not do any paint or body work, but to leave the faded Rose Beige 2-tone paint. I have a '57 Ford 9" and I have some left of '55 F100 brakes and steering. Will the F100 steering work well on a fendered car? What about early Mustang?

Picked up a French flathead and S-10 5-speed this weekend. The Brookville frame is supposed to be here today![IMG]

'29 roadsters are one of my favourite cars. I'll be watching this thread. What type of ch***is?

Brookville frame, French flathead, 1957 Ford 9", 4" dropped I-beam with split bones, F-100 brakes and steering, probably ladder bars and buggy spring in back. Still trying to figure out the gas tank I want to use. Leaning towards a '32 tank because I want to keep the rumble seat and don't want to use the cowl tank.

  12. Looks like a cool build. I'll keep an eye on it. There are not enough fender cars by my way of thinking.

I got to ask and not being mean here at all so bear with me please, was the A frame broken? Why did you go with the Brookfield frame?

Actually the stock frame was one of the nicest I have seen in years, too nice to modify IMHO. I sold the whole running ch***is for $1900 to some guys to put under a 'gennie. For $800, the Brookville frames are very nice, square, fully boxed and sturdy with all of the mounting holes in them for the body and running board brackets.

Glad the nice running ch***is got saved in one piece. I've seen a few nice cars get the ch***is stripped down to bare rails and it makes the stock engine and axles hard to find homes for once they're apart. I like where this build is headed, looking forward to seeing more.

  17. I would like to have a stock roller myself. It would make a good foundation for a rod I want to build. Hell it wouldn't even need to be a roller I got axles. LOL :D

But like 55 Styleiner said I would not want to butch a nice stock one unless it was part of a car I already owned and I needed it. If a restorer can use a good one I'll take a beat one any day. ;)

Wow could have used that stock A roller. Been on the look out for awhile for one.
