...hello guys and gals. I'm the quintessential quasi-geezer with dreams of that car I wanted in high school still floating around in my head. In order to get my hands on one, I need to find one for sale (duh?). Ads for classic cars are all over the internet but when I inquire, they've been sold. Which forum(s) would be the best place to ask about the best places to look for classics for sale (other than the hamb marketplace) and other beginner/newbie questions about the basics of 'acquiring' a classic ? I hope to be hanging around after I find what I'm looking for with other questions and posts as well. Thanks in advance, Mike
Don't wait for something to be advertised. Post your own add in the wanted sections and describe what you are looking for and condition you will consider. Prices will be all over the map so say you will negotiate if that is your intent. Don't buy with your heart, if you get a response that is out of your area but sounds good then post on here for a local HAMBer to check it out for you.
meegell I hope you find your dream car. If you don't plan on building one yourself. What I would do is go to a few of the larger shows, like NSRA and the Goodguys. And if you find the car that like. You and a couple of friends check it out. Never buy a car without being able to check it out. Know your budget. Good luck. I like your Avatar! Ron...
Thanks for the responses. Which one of the forums would be best to ask these kinds of 'rookie' questions. HAMB ?, some other forum ? Thanks again guys.
