Travis and I had plans to get a 36 Chevy pickup out of a local farmers hedgerow for his first hot rod. After 4 years of the farmer friend telling us he'd get it out "soon", we are moving to plan B, a 36 Chevy two door Master Deluxe sedan I had tucked away. We have a couple of 305 sbc's to choose from to rebuild. The trans will be a new process 4 speed o/d from a mid 80's chevy pickup. It's like an A833. I'll narrow a 58 Ford 9" housing for her. The knee action will be replaced by a Mustang II.

We've slowly been taking her apart but a couple of weekends ago we got busy, pulled the engine & trans, and got the body off. Tonight we cleaned up the frame, pulled the gas tank and the knee action front end. Whoever designed this knee action setup must have owned a fastener business. No less than 25 bolts holding that ****er on. Thank heavens for the hot wrench!!!

The wood is kinda ugly. :-/ When I got my 31 Pontiac the longest piece of wood left was less than a foot long. I used square steel to replace the wood in her. I've been pondering getting a shrinker/stretcher and just using sheetmetal for this one. I've got some learning to do!

I actually have a friend who thinks the knee actions are neat and wants it. Go figure.
