I have a 1940 chevy that I just coverted from 6 to 12 volt. I had bought the kit from Vintage Garage for a foot starter. It started right up and I went to put gas and it wouldn't start. The starter would try to start for a quick second then it would spin. It fianlly started and I took it home. When cold it starts right up but once I drive it for a while the starter just spins when I step on the foot starter. I never had this problem when it was 6 volt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of taking the starter out and have it opened up and maybe rebuild it.
