Looks great! Much better than it would with a stock roofline. Believe in yourself ...you have vision.
Absolutly beautiful car! a 33' 3 window is my personal favorite car of all time! I have always liked the small differences of the 33' verses the 34' with the different doors and grill. Definatly keep those pictures coming!
Will it be ready for spring thaw? Calgary needs more trad rods like this... lets see more updates....
I sure hope so, would love to roll it out for spring. I did tons to it last week so I'll get some more pics up asap.
Some updates to the 33. Hung some exhaust, major mods to the radius rods, built a flippy uppy seat. Cleaned all the **** out of the roof surround and got the steering half *** lined up. Here's a few pics.
thanks guys, ya I laid the grille back about 10 degrees or so. Also took 3 inches out of the rad. Ended up just right.
Dont you know, its the trend to chop, channel, yadda, yadda, yadda. Not much you can do when everyone is caught up in the whirlwind. Stick around; there will be more to come. As for the 33 3-window, these are my absolute favorite next to 34's. One of the coolest cars that I have seen. My favorte shot of one of these 3-windows was in the Hot Rod pictoral book written by Andy Southard. White, Highboy w/ a hood and perfectly chopped; just the way I like em! Good Luck ... and keep us posted on the build. Looking good.
Your car is GAY with a capital GAY!! You should put plastic Halloween skeletons on it, cut holes into the bottom of the doors so you can hang weeds out of it like its a REAL barn find. Then you can make a really slick spider web grill and a 14' shifter with a gun glued to it. And who needs an original floor, thats what they make screen doors for. Thats my dream car!
LOL ya the ch***is is at the paint shop so I should have some pics up soon. That project got shelved for a bit but is back on track now.
Cant wait to see this car all done up. Seriously you've done some incredible work! Ill be getting a 34' 3 window in the shop soon. (To bad its a customers and not mine)
Beautiful build! This may be a silly question but...what are you using to make those beautiful cuts in the body? Particularly at the cowl so the posts can lay back. Thanks for the updates with the great pics. I think I'll go out to the garage now and work on my project, thanks for the inspiration!!
Thanks guys. I used a 3/32 zip disc on a grinder to make the cuts. I had to lean the entire dash back a few degrees to get the windshield frame to lay in there flat. Leaning just the posts left the bottom of the windshield opening at a different angle so I had to cut across the cowl. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for the info, and yes it does make sense. That's what I plan to do on my '32 but wasn't sure what to use to make the cut. yours are beautiful! Again, the whole project is great and thanks for sharing.
The rake of my coupe makes my tail lights difficult to see at a distance (the LEDs are at a bad angle). Seems to need more of a 90 degree from the rear panel. What tail lights are you using?
The amp gauge do not care if its 6 or 12 volts, 33 have 20 amp gauges and 34 have 30 amp gauges. The tank gauge uses air in a coppertube and a special sender to work, and dont care about voltage either. But it did not work well when it was new. So maybe one should try to convert to some electronic gauge inside.
