Technical Stationary Window Seals

Hello all, looking for some knowledge on putting my rear windows back in my 59 Ford Wagon. I can't get new seals as no one makes them and the originals are in good shape. I was wondering if I should seal them against the body? Nothing was present when I removed them. The gl*** sits in a groove and then it pushes against the body.
