Wow!! Very cool of you guys!

Can I play? I really need a floor and sub-rails and am absolutely doing a 32 chassis...

It's a rough start, but it's actually pretty square. Car was a dirt track racer in Glendale, CA at some point, then went on to be some kind of custom hot rod in the 80's, then a buddy of mine passed it on to me to fill my "I'm gonna' keep this one" hot rod build.

Plan is a '31 coupe with with the idea of a late 50's lakes stance, with the feeling that maybe it was built by someone from the Indy scene. Power plant will be a 354 blown Chrysler, full hood, lots of interesting metal work, and, well... I can't give you ALL the details, but let's say there will be a lot of metal work and a lot of thought into the era it will reflect.

Hope it qualifies. It could use some floors and sub-rails in a bad way.

This is the car the day I brought it home and mocked it up in a shop I used to work out of. Now she sits in a small garage waiting on ME...

Sneak peak of a detail that will be seen somewhere in the car... :D

Used this product in the last couple a on deuce rail projects, Not looking for freebees, but here is an actual example! Hammer Hank and the dudes are old buds, and the product quality is great! BSM brothers forever dude, everyone good luck!

I can dig it. I have a 31 coupe waiting on the back burner. A set a American Stamping rails, boxing plates and crossmember. A 32 heavy axle and most of a 331 hemi along with a QC center.

  12. This almost makes me want to change plans and run a Deuce frame.......ALMOST! What about us guys that are building full-fendered rides? Sounds like discrimination to me!!! :D

Good luck and I'll be watching.....

I'm with Brett and he asked the question I wanted to ask yesterday. do you have a setup for guys who want to use the stock Model A rails and don't need the kickup? I don't really want to buy a wood kit for the floor of mine and for me it will take a lot of hours of fabricating to come up with something even close to what you have there.

Oh! I guess I should add my plans. Chop it a couple inches. Paint it somekind of a flat pearl. Keep the stock seat. I also have some ideas for a snap on top. Change the wheels and drive it.

Thank you guys for offering this up! My father and I are building a 30 Model A on original 32 rails. This is our first prewar ford build. We are low budget and doing everything as cost effective as possible but with the highest quality our skills will allow. It all began in October 2012 when we drove 350 miles one way to pick up a set of original 32 rails that were in our price range. Of course they were rough but we were super excited to have original 32 rails. Heres what they looked like when we got them home.

We bought the body as well as other parts from a great friend of ours, Thanks Randy!

The frame was in pretty tough shape. Someone had replaced the rear portion already so we started stripping the 80 years of hack off the rest and found the front half was real rough (twisted, dented, and hacked). So I drew up the exact original frame dimensions in CAD and cut out new front frame sections on my CNC plasma. We welded and ground them up and they came out great.

After all welded and squared to the original sections, we leveled and squared the chassis on the fab table and installed a model A front cross member.

We then pinched and contoured the frame to fit the model a body. We bought a 46 Ford parts car and robbed the X member from the frame. With some cutting, welding, and grinding, its taking shape into the 32 rails. The factory pedals and master will line up where they need to be in the A. We still need to tie in the front X and box the rest of the frame.

This is where we are at now. Almost time to set the body on and build our rear sub rails.

The plan for the build is a clean, traditional 50's style hot rod. We have a 331 Cadillac mated to a LaSalle trans with an aluminum adapter. 40 Ford banjo with 48 pickup open drive center section, Model A spring and crossmember. 4" Model A dropped axle, 37 bones, 46 spindle/brakes. Body chopped 4", 3/4" channel, 32 grille shell.

Again, thank you for the opportunity to win the subrail kit. This would help my father and I out a lot!

Very cool that you guys are doing this.

My roadster definitely needs sub rails. It was an old roundy round car, that i've been collecting parts for. Its finally getting put together.

Plans are for a late 40s style roadster. I have an original deuce chassis, 38 flathead, 39 trans, and stock deuce front and rearend. It will get hydraulic brakes, firestones, and really chopped and leaned windshield (mandatory).

Here it is mocked up with the body vice-gripped on the chassis.

I've been scroungin parts for the last 2 years for this thing. Its been the second priority while trying to finish my sedan, so there's never any money for it ($3500 total as it sits in last pic).

The subrails would help out greatly.

I have made a deadline to drive it to this years vantage flathead run no matter what.

First off, thank you guys for doing this for us HAMBer's.

    Well here goes,

We bought this Coupe a couple years ago. All stock with the exception of Hyd brakes. Plan was for a 32 frame, chopped, Y block, you know a nice old hot rod.

Well plans change sometimes and with four boys and a new baby girl, mine did.

I decided to hop up the banger and keep the A frame until things came around. We pulled the fenders, chopped it 4 inches, used a dropped axle and a T spring out back. I got a nice header from Matt at Gear Drive and one off intake from Bill, BC Chopit, here on the HAMB. It was great cruising it around, but the four banger can only suffice for awhile.

Eariler this summer I got an original 32 frame, dropped 32 OG axle, K member and all the suspension parts with the good rear wishbones from a local long time hot rodder. Then I got a nice flat head in trade and will run that instead of the Y block that way I don't have to cut up the K member.

I have been collecting the parts and it is now time. I am short the radiator and grill shell and some other parts. In about 2 weeks I will be pulling the body off of the frame and then the real work will happen!

    Here are some pics.

This is the day we got it

Here is the frame I have with the rear end and brake parts I have sourced

It has came a long way from this, but in the end. It needs a V8, a 32 frame, and STEADFAST MFG SUBRAIL KIT to be finished!

THANK YOU FOR LETTING US BE A PART OF YOUR GENEROUS GIVAWAY,

Joe, Christina, Brandon, Brian, Brett, Brad, Hattie, and now Hudson

Awesome guys that you are doing this for the community! (both giving one away, and for also just making these parts) I let as many people know about these kits as I can.

I'm also in the collecting stage of another Pre-War build. 31 Roadster on ASC 32 rails. Driveline is from a '36 Ford 3 Window being street rodded. This will most likely be another whirlwind project later this year.

Here's our submission: (2) 1930 Model A Coupes, both are getting '32 chassis pinched for A, rear transverse spring with ladder bars, lincoln drum brakes, 4" dropped I beam. One is being built for my dad and one for my brother at the same time. Running 40's steelies on the other is the plan now. Patina will stay on the "green" one with a 4" chop then paint will be blended back in to make it appear as an old barn find hot rod. Other "black" one for dad will also be getting a 4" chop, color to be determined, this will be his retirement gift. Have an 8ba and a 59ab flathead, both good runners and top loader 3 spds, also have 350/350 combo with Cadillac valve covers and olds batwing air cleaner. Chassis on both will be black, traditional style, very minimal chrome if any. Getting a set of these subrails would really help us out on our builds, then we'd get to buy another one for the other car. Thanks again for this opportunity. Added a picture today showing the ladder bar rear with transverse spring. Did I mention that your subrails would be awesome to use!!!

Response has been great so far. Several guys made comments on sub rails for Model A or T or well any make of flat floored car body going on a 2" X 4" Model A Style chassis. We are going to make a sub rail kit that would work on anything. You can cut floor cross members to whatever width you need. If you have any interest let me know we know there is a need and are making them as I type . Keep photos coming and projects rolling & Good Luck ! Mike @ Steadfast

Starting on a new project. 1930 roadster on 32 rails.
Frame rails supplied by Dropped Axle, will be running a 1952 Flathead with a T5. The Body is getting new I/4 s installed by Josh Highley of Highley's Hot Rods and Restoration. The roadster has very nice original sub rails and using your set up would make this thing look Sweat for the conversion to a set of 32 rails. Will try to add some pictures of the progress in a few minutes. These are just what I need and the timing could not be better. The first few pictures are the Roadster body when I first got it before Josh started. The last few shows the new 1/4 panals in place. Looks nice and clean now,wow the Steadfast kit would really look amazing on this project.

    Nice offer..
Here's my '31 roadster on '32 rails. I'd love to have a set of those subrails. I'm just now ready to tackle that rear floor area, so this comes at a perfect time.
