I finally found some time to work on the 32. I cleaned up the rearend and mounted my cast spring mounts. I machined up a couple of spacer rings so I could put Buick drums on the ford hubs.

I worked on getting the Buick drums put on the axle and c notched the frame last weekend. I made up a set of fiction shocks and added the lightening holes to the levers and I hope to get the shocks wrapped up this weekend.

Great looking car and looks a bit like the one the guy had who I cought my body off, but I cant recall his name.

Just a heads up, do NOT buy anything for your 3 window from a Paul Webster. When i had mine he contacted me from an Ad looking for a door. Wont bore you with the details serach his name here and you can see.

I worked on the flanged boxing plates today. I welded small blocks on the inside of the frame rails 5/8" in so the boxing plates would be located in the right spot. Next I use 1/8 X 1/2 hot roll steel strip and this will be the flange that will be welded to the boxing plate. I will drill holes in the frame every couple inchs just inside the frame edge this way I can weld the boxing plates on to the frame through the drilled holes and after the welds are ground it should look like a die stamped boxing plate. I made up the first of many oval tube gussets and tig welded the heads of 1/4 20 bolts just enough to melt the screwdriver slot and now they look like the stock rivets.

I like the boxing plate idea, clever. the welding through a hole every few inces bit has me a little concerned, its probably okay, but doesnt quite sit right with me, if you know what i mean.

Hey guys still looking for a drivers door and I would consider trading the old chassis for a nice 3 window drivers door. There are a couple of pictures on the first page. No front axle and it will need some repair in the front rail area.

I carved out a little more time last week and got the rear boxing plates fabbed up. I wanted to do something different for the rear control arms and came up with this set up with the help of my fellow hamber Steve. I had a old wishbone and a axle laying around and after a afternoon of cutting and grinding I got it tacked in place. I plan to gusset the axle mount and make it look like it was cast on to the axle. The front of the arms will be adjustable to help dial in th pinion angle.

I got the rear axle pretty much in place and have the control arms done. I cut the cast ends off a set 48 ford rear control arms and welded them to a set of front bones. I have a early schroeder box I need to get started on the mounting..I will cast up some kind of cool mounts for this I hope. I got the nailhead all polished up, just need to rebuild the carbs.

I told my wife I was driving this to the salt flats next summer.....I mean I asked her If I could drive it to the flats LOL

Lookin good I love the motor choice

Do them carbs have a front fuel inlet or side? We have the same intake for my dads 322. With front fuel inlets on the carbs you cant get fuel into the rear carb. We got some adaptors to run 97's.

the front carb fuel inlet is on the front of the carb and the rear fuel inlet is on the side....they are very close to the same looking carb other than the inlets but they do have different numbers

I got a few hours in the firewall today, after about an hour of looking at I got started and it went pretty good. It took 16 different pieces to get this far but the whole bottom half was gone.
I hope to wrap it up tomorrow.
