I agree that the 3 ports would look better lined up with the fins, I made it that way at first but and wanted the fuel to enter through the end of of the log..no room for the fuel inlet and a mounting bolt, but I could use a small pipe nipple and have it protrude through the back mounting tab and forgo the mounting screw in the back but still have one on the front. Maybe I will redo it.. Crafty
I like all the cast parts. It blurs the line between what is off the shelf and what is custom. Rather than showing off that you did something custom and it looking out of place, Your parts all "go together" in a cool way. Awesome work!

I do try to make the part look like it belonged there from the beginning and sometimes it works and other times it does not, It took the whole weekend to come up with the pattern for the tripower...I like the way it looks from one angle and then Im to to sure from another angle..but it is what it is. Foundry Jay cast up the bottom pulley today, I ran down and picked it up at lunch... both pulleys are all machined up and all I need to do is the tension pulley. Crafty

every spare minute is used on this build...late nights and weekends.. I do work regular hours on my cast parts biz and customers projects. I have made some really good progress and it is coming together but everything is just roughed, the real time will be getting it to "nice" but I hell bent on driving it to the salt in Aug Crafty

Hi Dave Well I must admit that I have kinda hit a wall on my progress...I need to stay on it every spare minute and fellow hamber encouragement sure does help..thanks to all of you who take time to comment on the progress, it keeps me going!! I have been busy on a customers 32 roadster project but hope to get the inner steering loop and schroeder box mounted tonight. Hi Guys Carved out a little time Saturday and got the inner hoop all mounted to the frame and to the firewall....very sturdy. I have the column mounted to the box now so that's off the list!! I removed the stock aluminum seal plate that was around the 3/4" dia steering shaft and machined up a steel one with a sleeve that the stainless column would press on to. Hope to run one of my 40 Ford aluminum steering wheels but that old lincoln wheel looks pretty good. I dug out the original seat today and it is super comfortable!! Later Crafty
love how you're 'bluring' the visual line between 'bought' & built, as your casting patterns not only follow function, but look great, and designed with a 'big picture' perspective, job well done. I made this wheel this afternoon while the boss wasn't looking today... had to trim a little to get the shocks to fit but it all worked out. Crafty
I got carried away on the column drop today..I was going to mount it solid and call it done but came up with this... it has about 4"of adjustment now so this will be nice on long trips. The upper plate with the 2 large holes is hinged at the firewall letting the locking collar slide up or down the column. I whittled out the small locking arm out of one of my tail light brackets and this locks the collar in place. STEERING almost done!!!! Crafty
The "Bonneville countdown" is awesome. You are a man on a mission, and I try to do the same in my life. Personal deadlines always seem to get things done. I wanted to go this year but I got a job that prevents that. I quess I will always have next year...
