steel wheel centers

    does anyone know where one can get the steel wheel centers from? i called Wheel Smith and they wont sell them to me...planing on making my own wheels...

    I think one of my buddys has bought the separate pieces from Stockton wheel before but be prepared to bang you head against the wall in frustration if you deal with them. He seems to have good luck with them but folks on here haven't been so lucky.

    I did the same thing with 40/48 centers, cut them down on the brake lathe like that pic, and used older VW bug hoops.

    yeah i did the same, but word got out that i did it for my own hotrods and now people are asking to whip'em up a set...just people feel better when they can walk in and actualy fine tune back spacing and what not...

    In the pic, the centers are new--multi lug. and no rivet holes. I ground off the rivets, center drilled them and was then able to punch what was left out. No break drum lathe needed.
