HAS ANYBODY ELSE SEEN THE STEEL '39 WILLYS ON CRAIGS LIST, FOR $65k OBO? If I wasn't so attatched to my Coupe, i'd trade for it. It's in Solvang. Does anybody here know who owns it? Says in the ad, surviver 60's Drag Car. 454, 4spd, all steel, except the rear fenders. That's a great price, for a steel Willys...

That looks like the real deal and not a poser car. I won't post the link because the hunt is half the fun and it is pretty easy to find.

It's a badass car! Willys was always on my bucket list. I'm not pulling any more out of my 401k, lol..., but it's really fucking tempting.

I don't get excited about many drag cars and most of the time when I read "gasser" poser comes into mind far more than race car but it's a good thing I don't have the spending money where that car is concerned. I wouldn't change a thing that didn't relate to safety or freshening the engine. The big thing with me is that my daughter would lay claim to it on the spot as she has wanted an all steel Willys since she was a kid.

 

Bought my old 67 f100 from a cool old guy. He swapped and traded rides.
We got to talking and he showed me the rides in his barn. A nice 41ish Lincoln conv, a 40 Willy’s truck, steel cab and bed with glass nose. A 40 coupe, steel shell, glass doors and nose.
The stuff ya find out in the country.

 

Don't have deep enough pockets, but dammit I would love to own that car. And you are right Bob, it is a fair price.

 

I was looking at a Willys car kit while in Afghanistan. I almost bought one so that I would have it to build when I got home.
I'm very glad that I didn't do it. Nothing beats a real Willy's.

I know, Johnny. I'm just hoping someone here might get it so some dumbass doesn't turn it into a billet Streetrod! Ruin it.... If I got it, I would just clean things up and use KiwiKevs Willys as a guide. After seeing the one Hotrod Ranch did, it gets my juices flowing, haha.

 

Damn I'd be happy with just the wheels.

It would take me over a year to touch it after i drooled over it that long. After that first touch, i'd drool another few months.

 

I know....It would take a while just to accept that I owned it! haha
