i am trying to figure out what steering box will work in my 38 plymouth. i put in a dodge 360 v8 so it is tight. i may be able to notch the frame and use the original box, but wonder if there is a better way. i am running the original axle and suspension. any help or advice would be appriciated. thanks, mike

  2. i helped a friend put a 318 Plymouth into a `47 Plymouth...not sure if it's about the same as yours? anyway , the stock steering box was retained and i believe the driver's side exhaust manifold was from an early 70s road runner to clear it. tight but clears. he found that info on a P15 website? i think that a ford explorer rear end was used too

On my '36 Dodge,I moved the stock steering box back 6" on the frame, right to the firewall. Lengthened the drag link 6", and shortened the stock colum shaft 6". Works great, clears a hemi, ought to clear a 318.
