Anyone know what this steering column/box is out of? Need some parts for it, but don't know what it is. I want to use it in a Model T based project.

  5. Dave, can you post a pic of the steering wheel & spark/fuel levers? That may be the key in identifying it.

  7. This is driving me nuts...surprisingly few cars had the spark/throttle levers under the wheel. I'd say it's definitely a 'big car'; reminds me a lot of a late-teens Pierce-Arrow setup, but I don't think that's what it is. Will keep looking.

Thanks, Gary. I was thinking along those same lines, but couldn't come up with anything.

  9. Mid-teens Hupmobiles have a very similar steering wheel...just can't find very good pics of the whole column...

Thanks, Bob, checked some pics but haven't found it yet.
One more bump for ID or if someone has a parts unit laying around.

C G & P Co. is the name on the box. It doesn't ring any bells with me like Saginaw and Genner do.

There were alot of manufacturers building cars in the late 'teens and 20s that bought available steering units from companies in the steering business.

I agree. I searched for cg&p gear etc and couldn't come up with anything. I'd guess the g stands for gear, so C..... Gear and P.... Company.
