Hope someone out there can answer my question. I'm using a stretched Model A frame with a REO body. I'd like to use stuff I already have, and want to know if anyone has done this. 48' Ford car steering box and column. I was told that the cross steer is better for bump steer, and I have the matching spindles. Should it be located in the same area as the original? Will mounting it on the inside of the frame rail rather than inside of the framerail (like the Model A box) cause any clearance issues? (Flathead). Any other pointers or things to think about? Thanks in advance.

If seeing the frame rail twist/move when turning don't bother ya, go for it. I had one, used original mounting plate in approximate original location on outside of rail, next to engine. Really did not like how it looked. Changed to a F-1 box.

Need pics of car and application to properly evaluate the situation in question.

    Sure, it's doable.
