Can someone ID this Gemmer steering column? Only markings is on the tube clamp. It says Gemmer Steering Patented. No casting numbers on the box, no logo on the horn button. Tried to test fit in my A coupester and if you use the original hole it's really short. Puts the wheel very near the dash. Notice the bracket with a starter switch mounted to the box. The horn ring has concentric grooves and the wheel itself has finger grips all the way around. Thanks for any input. Pancho
well read on. this might tell you something ,it isnt http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/1564/steering.html
The other thing about this column is that it takes 4 turns from lock to lock. That's pretty slow, isn't it?
actually that is slow, a fast turn would be like in a newer car 2 or 2 1/2 turns lock to lock is what is used in gm stuff from i think 92 up, that means your ratio is around 17 to 1 gives you about a 4 and 1/2 turns ,59 was about the last year the industry used that ratio
