We are looking for a little ***istance from a HAMBER familiar with what we think is a 50s Ford column. It is in a traditional A coupe and we would like to reuse it if we can find the correct steering wheel adapter. It has a 15-16 inch wheel with deep dish and about a 150 degree horn ring. The column is 1.5 inch in diameter. Here is what I have never seen and may help with identification. The signal switch is not under the horn ring but is an adjustable switch mounted on the column. When the signal lever is moved left-right it moves a rod up and down parallel to the column under the wheel. This rod is connected to a very thin cable which is solid like a choke cable. This cable travels down the column to the switch. The cable is so small it looks like a 10g wire and the horn wire is a separate unit with its' own plug. Any help appreciated and Merry Christmas to all. Thanks.
Early 60s chevys used a remote turn signal switch. Pictures of the column would help, but it might be Corvair, from the description.
A big thank you to squirrel, you hit it on the head. The mention of Corvair was a hint, a little research shows a GM unit with the switch used on 59-64 GM cars. The Ford horn center ****on fooled us. Thanks again.
