Need to know what position this tube needs to be so I can address the other end (weld to a gearbox). I don't have the adapter or the steering wheel yet but need to know to center my front wheels. So which position is this tube located to work with the adapter and wheel I don't have yest or for that matter have not decided which wheel I even want yet.

Looks like a GM copy. Question, can you rotate that horn contact 360 degrees on steering shaft?

If it’s a faithful copy of a GM column you should be able to remove that snap ring and rotate the contact however you want.

GM restricted how far it could move via the locking plate which isn't present in OP's pic. Removing the clip is not necessary and could be a surprise for OP being it's spring loaded.

Horn contact spins 360 degrees with the main steering shaft .

I'm sorry I forgot to tell you to hold steering shaft so it won't turn. The horn contact will rotate with some resistance but it will. This is how you compensate it's position to match your wheel and or adapter.

Thanks Johnny Gee,the directions say 10:30 ,that's what i needed...sounds like it will turn without the shaft turning if I need to make a small adjustment.
