Got a 55 chevy 2nd series truck with a 79 camaro front clip welded in. Would like to use the original wheel if possible. I know there are a ton of these trucks out there with camaro clips so i was wondering what everyone is using. For additional info, it was an original 4 on the floor and i'm running the 235 with a t5 trans so the column shift isn't an issue.

  2. why not use the stock column? saw it off at the steering box,fab up a bushing/bearing for the bottom end and support bracket down there while you're at it. a ujoint or two and a steering coupler and you're good to go

im assuming you'd just cutback the outer portion of the column a few inches further exposing the inner for a ujoint attachment point? didnt really know if this was a good idea or not. sure is a ton cheaper.
