Is that what you call these?...came off a 1927 Lincoln... Goes around the column and has cutouts for the pedals. What ARE it called? There's another pic of one, you can barely see the top of it.
A part like that is normally called an escutcheon (pronounced e skush un) Its a generic name for all sorts of trim plates surrounding parts that p*** thru walls or bulkheads.
Thank you...I'd heard that term used for window cranks and door handles, but never for steering columns...learn somethin' new every day.
i call it a filler plate...or "the piece i have to make because the last guy to work on it used carpet, duct tape and or spray foam"
It's a 1927 Lincoln pedal and steering column floor filler plate.... I forget the part number though.
I conceed that escutcheon is the proper name, but at least can we refer to it as a "steering column escutcheon thingy"? I think the the "thingy" on the end adds a certain...
