steering full lock question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Flattiesteve, Sep 23, 2005.

  1. G'day guys

I just put on my drag link and tie rod on the roadster and have a question about full lock.... what is the right angle for the wheels on full lock? 45deg? I have a stock Ford I beam (1940's) and the steering arms hit the underside of the axle on both sides when turning the steering from side to side. This gives me a tad under 45 deg either side. What should I have to turn proper;ly?

    Cheers

do you have the steering stops in steve??

  3. My front axle/spindle/stops combination (all '36 parts) turns 40 degrees either way from straight ahead.

  4. Thanks I think mine'll be the same when I add the stops.
