I need to to have my steering gearbox rebuilt. Anyone know anywhere, I could send that off to? Preferably in SoCal.

    thanks.

Are we to assume that it's for a 54 Ford?

DIY, they aren't that tough and by the time it's assembled you will know exactly what's involved in adjustment.
That's manual steering, I have only had big truck power steering apart for repair, simple, maybe car power steering is difficult but can't imagine so.

By the time you get it out and exterior cleaned, the hard work is done.

  5. They're very simple to do. Try it yourself, you'll be surprised what you can do.

Tell us what's wrong with it now.

    Sloppy? Sticks?

I rebuilt an F1 box recently, and I believe the 54 is very similiar. They are VERY simple. Mine was "sticking" right in the middle and a little sloppy, I took it apart, the worm gear was galled, got a new one from Mac's for $60, and new gaskets, now it 's tight and smooth.
