Steering options

    When I started my touring project I had all the standard choices available but i was drawn to the stack of 40's steering boxes i'd saved ,since i can't seem to get rid of anything! Turned out easier to mount than i thought and allowed me to use a column shift . The floor shift took up to much room.     That looks great. I did the same thing on my roadster, I mean almost exactly. I have the holes drilled in the gusset and everything. You did uses heavier gauge metal than I did and I now wish I had used a little heavier stuff.

    I left out these aer FORD steering boxes!

    Paul glad to help,sometimes it seems to take forever to do the simplest thing!

    That's some mighty pretty bracketry you got there!

    Ya might want to pull it apart and drill and tap a oil fill hole in what is now the top of the case. In the position it's in now it looks like the only thing that might get oil is the cross shaft bearings. Unless you pack it with grease, which a while back Rogue told ud wasn't sufficient lubrication gr that Gemmer gear.

    Does the pitman arm go UP on a '40 box?
