That 567 box looks very similar to the GM 605 box that everyone was using in the 55-57 Chevys for awhile, someone was actually selling them for the mid 50's Fords, now everyone is have problems with them. The 605 box has a short sector shaft so the lower half of the box needs to be extended. Its hard to see it very well in the lousy pictures but that 567 box looks like it has an extended sector shaft.

old lady's man is right . I have seen the same conversion and there was NO cutting the frame in involved and the pitman fits ! I had posted that back in the early summer sometime when I posted some information on using the Grand Cherokee steering box .
To spend that much money and have to cut up the frame is not worth it to me . Way too much work for p/s ! I have seen the other way done and have spoken with people that have done the conversion and all they did was use a bracket to bolt to the frame in the stock holes , then bolt the G/C steering box to it .
I will have to dig all this back out and repost it here again .

well if all goes right this winter ill make one or more and have a blueprint of sort . and when i buy my taperd bolts ill have to buy them in bulk im sure . i will only need 3 myself . ive got the general idea of how to make it .the top hole nearest the control arm gose all the way through the box. thats the locator hole . then the others just bolt the plate to the frame.

That was the same one I was talking about . It's a Grand Cherokee steering box . I saw that same one on a different auction a couple times but , yes it's hasn't been around for a while . I was just going to get the steering box and pitman arm and make my own plate . The plate is just bigger than the frame as the steering box sits up higher than the frame .

I will have to hit the salvage yards before the snow hits and test it out when the engine and trans gets pulled over the winter . That will be the easiest way to check it out and see what needs to be done to make it work . I will make sure to take plenty of pictures for the conversion .
I have welding up all the emblem holes and have taken all the door handles off my 55 Ford !

Mark , that was back in the summer sometime . I found it when I searching for the Cherokee steering box . I wish I saved that seller now ! I wish I could find the brackets to buy or the prints and measurements , then I could make my own brackets .
I was checking on some used prices around here and found a guy that has a 1997 Jeep Cherokee that he is parting out . He told me I can have the steering box , pitmon arm , power steering pump , lines and everything for $100 if I pull the parts myself . If he pulls it all he wants $150 . Heck I will pull it for the $50 ! I think that's a fair price . I emailed him today to see if I can find out where he has the Jeep . Never know where they are 1/2 the time on C/L .
