Can anyone tell me what the diameter is of the steering shaft on a 1936 Ford Pickup? I believe the outer tube is 1-1/2", I don't know the inner shaft. Thanks!

I'm wanting to think 3/4. Some sources say that some pre 40 Ford trucks had a shaft od of 7/8 though.
Years ago I came up with a Ford steering shaft that someone had torched the column off just above the box when removing the body from the frame and that shaft served as my spacer source when I needed to make a spacer to use with a 3/8 bolt for years.

I’ve a ‘40 box in the shop, assume it’s the same? I’ll see what the diameter is of it a bit later

The OD of that shaft is just over 3/4" at .760 diameter... that what the '40 shaft that I just put in my roadster was.
