Technical steering wheel adapters

    Hi, does anyone make an adapter ,so I can run a 1941 chev. wheel on a new column? Thanks Jim

    Envision what that adapter would look like....how do you fit a wheel with a small hub, onto a larger diameter column, and make it look good?

    (the splines are probably the same, so that's not the real issue)

    Actually you probably can fit that wheel to the column and make it look good. I haven't done this particular swap but I have put '63 nova , '63 Buick, and a Chrysler Newport wheel on later GM columns. The Nova and the Buick both fit fairly well after turning down the Flange that meets up with the column and drilling a new hole for the horn contact piece. The Newport one was a bit more interesting I ended up making a collar to fit the bottom of the wheel so it covers the area from the wheel to the column and it flared out a bit to line up with the lock plate. Sometimes you just need to try it and see how far off it is.
