D3B30CAF-2396-40AA-BB66-D1DCFD2DCAA0.jpeg Hi I want a merc steering wheel for my 53 Victoria. The problem is the merc wheel I a key insert. Has anyone found a way to convert them to a spline or change the column to a key way?? This is the wheel I like

Sorry, I cannot help you with the switch, but I do have to say, this is one of the best and most comfortable steering wheels I have ever sat behind. The center bars are the best arm rests for long cruises. I do wish I still had the Mercury that the wheel was in. AAAHHHHH, the memories ! ! !

Yeah I can’t find much. I dint think it’s possible without a lot of work. Probably changing the complete column

If I am not mistaken it is splined and keyed. The key to align the wheel.. File the interference off and just be sure to get it on straight

if keyed I doubt you would need to file key as most I have seen are at 12 o'clock when wheels are straight ahead.the spline itself needs to match size pitch etc.your biggest challenge will be finding one to try
