    Hey everyone:

Ok, so it looks like I am not going to find a good or even repairable steering wheel for my 50 Chrysler Windsor what are my options...I checked a few of the aftermarket suppliers but none seem to offer an adapter kit to fit my stock colum and besides most of them don't make a wheel I like. what other wheels would be a direct bolt on?

    Thanks in advance

  2. I believe Chryslers are the same size shaft through 1961 or 1962; I know the '63s the shaft size is a bunch smaller. But that's a lot of options, late 50's big wheels, the square ones, etc.

    7/8 40 spline?

I snagged a so-nice-it-could-be-NOS 51 Chrysler wheel on the evil auction site a while back. Not cheap but still less than most repro or professionally restored wheels. They're still out there, don't give up.

BTW, for a while there I was buying $10 junker wheels to see what I liked in the car....50 plymouth, 51 chrysler, 56 chrysler, and 58 chrysler- all the same spline.

I was talking to a guy with a 30's vintage Mopar wheel on his new Flaming River column. He said FR made in up special for him. That example is kind of the backwards of your situation, but maybe they (or Borgeson) could make you an adapter? He said he had to call them direct.

Try looking for a 50's coronet wheel. I yanked one that seems like it took the weather better than any of the other ones out in the yard.

Thanks I feel alot better about getting something to fit on there now..alot better than that vise grip Idea that I had anyway.
Shifty Shifterton that is a great Idea I will look around for a bunch of steering wheels off other cars and see how they look, when it gets warmer....I am pretty sure they will be round though.
