I've spray bombed some but your choice of any automotive paint will work. The spray bomb paint won't hold up over time like a urethane or catylized enamel but the price is right. You can top coat it with the same brand spray bomb clear for a little more protection.

Base coat / Clear coat has held up great on my 64 Malibu wheel for 8 years. Used body filler on the cracks, held up great until stored the first winter, got some fine line cracks then. No changes since.

After a little prep work, I just used body filler on the cracks in my 54 Chevy wheel then sprayed it with the same tinted primer as the outside of the car, then shot clear over it with a little white pearl paste mixed in it. Turned out nice and is holding up well so far (about 2 years).
