I've been spending time trying to locate the slop that is in my steering. The steering gear box is adjusted according to the Ford manual spec but there is still a lot of play. I believe the source is my power steering control valve. Today I made a short video of how much the ball stud moves laterally inside the control valve sleeve with the engine running. It is about 1/4th of an inch. I would be grateful if someone with power steering could look at theirs and tell me if it appears normal.
