  1. Whats the trick to getting the horn ****on off on my '54? I need to get my wheel off to fix the cracks and don't want to break anything.

Anyone got a decent wheel they want to sell?? Mines repairable, but.....

undo your battery cables. then take the horn ring and push down and turn counterclock wise.

i've been working on the same thing this past week, push down on horn turn ccwise.should pop right up good luck finding used one.mine was in really bad shape, the center piece which houses everything was cracked into 3 different pieces i used some plastic bumper repair 2 part epoxy that was 7 dollars worked perfect held everything together tight is sandable got from napa sprayed primer 2 nights ago and paint last night.came out smooth cant see where the breaks were.by the way i let the epoxy sit for 48 hours before sanding on.any questions let me know, ill try to get some pictures up after i clear coat.

  4. Thanks guy,

I plan to epoxy my wheel also. Lots of cracks means lots of sanding!

make sure you use some good quality bolts on your wheel puller grade 8 or close i used a puller from auto zone came with some cheap bolts, one bolt broke off things got ****ty after that i guess thats why they make taps and dies.

PC7 is kind of the standard for steering wheel repair. Its what I used for mine, it came out okay, after paint it came out really well.
