Steering wheel removal

I have a 1953 ford Victoria. I am trying to remove the steering wheel. The horn ring will not come off. Any thoughts would be helpful.

 

Not sure about about the 53 but on my 50 you have to turn the ring counterclock wise a bit than it will come off.

 

Have tried that. It will not turn.

 

Damn.

 

Push in really hard and turn, it will come off if you have enough pressure on it.
