Steering wheel resto/swap - what do you think?

    It's a 67 Beaumont wheel I got last year. Shaved 3/8" off the back side to fit the column, stripped and restored with POR15 and lots of sanding, finished with PPG pearl base and clearcoat. Actually... I spent so much time looking at it that I really noticed the beautiful design that went into the wheel. Steering wheels used to make a statement about a car, now with the exception of fake wood, they're blobs of rubber.

    The horn assembly is from a 53 GMC, the button filled and smoothed.
    I'm waiting on a certain esteemed HAMB art editor to get back to me about striping the horn button. :)

    A nice change from the bolt-on aftermarket stuff seen everywhere - including my own cars.:eek:


    Got any outside view pics of your 50?:cool:
