Got a hold of a really cool old boat steering wheel that I want to adapt to my car. Has anyone done the swap from a splined shaft to a slotted shaft like a boat wheel has. Not really concerned about the horn ****on in the center of the wheel, can work around that. My concern is mating the wheel to the splined Ford shaft. All input welcome, thanks!

There was a similar thread awhile back but I will give you my input anyway. I used a '40 Ford wheel (keyed) on a '57 F 100 box/column(splined) I simply took a dremel tool and cut a key in the splined F 100 shaft. Worked like a dream. tim
