Steering wheel

    Damn jumped on the coupe at the light and pulled the steering wheel off wtf..
    Its a speedway setup. Had lockwashers on it to i guess the bolts came lose.
    Had to drive it to the side of the road useing my hand on the column.

    I don't see why you felt it necessary to mention where you bought it, simply sounds like you almost killed yourself on your own.

    I never liked the aluminum or pot metal bases for custom wheels, so I make mine out of steel now. Just a little extra piece of mind.

    Had the same thing happen to me with a friends Road Runner in 1973 !
    Went to make a left hand turn and kept going straight . All 3 of the bolts came loose on the horn cap ! Wheel just turned around and went straight !
    No the horn didn't work and No I couldn't here them rattle in the horn cap either . That R/R had 550+ HP with open headers , so I was just damn lucky . I just got back from running the crap out of that car to check a few things out before we took it to the race track .
    We didn't have Lock tight back then .
