Anyone have experience with these wheels.I am thinking of one for the 32 Roadster as it has a 60's look about it.

http://con2r.com/ Go to Steering Wheel Gallery. My first choice is the
Gazelle and the one fifth row down on the left(white/black combo)but using the white with gold(colour of the car).

I talked to them at length at the Portland Roadster show two years ago and the wheels have a great feel to them as far as I am concerned. My fingers loved the fatter rim as between arthritis and injury a thin wheel isn't comfortable for me.

The rim may be a bit fat to be a true representation of a 50 something wheel though. They are as spendy as a new Nardi or other top line custom wheel but you can have a one off that you probably will never see a match to. I'm still thinking about ordering one when I get to that point.

They are 15 inch and come in offsets(dish) of 1,2 & 3 inches.

I am looking at a 60's style for this car and since it is a channelled roadster the smaller diameter is good for not knocking your knee on the wheel as you get in/out of the car.The doors and cabin are 2 inches longer also and that helps.

I think if you want a 60's look you should use a steering wheel from the 60's, either a stock one or after market........

In Australia we don't have the range and availability of 60's car parts.
I looked at using a Crestliner wheel(Limeworks repro) which would be approx $1000 landed here.
Also looked at using a modified Hudson wheel like in my 48 Hudson and with the mods to reduce the diameter and finish the wheel that is over $1100.Same goes for modifying other wheels. One US company quoted $1500 for a reduced diameter wheel.
So I am looking at something that has the reduced diameter and still a 60's custom hot rod look and the CON2R seems to fit the bill.

If you are going to drop that kind of coin on a steering wheel, you might as well get EXACTELY what you want. Remember, you are going to see it, and have your hands on it, every time you drive the car. Make sure it fits good, feels good and looks good to YOU. Any compromise now is only going to piss you off every time you get in the car. I like the fact that you can customize those wheels a gazillion different ways, and they don't look out of place in a traditional car, unlike the billet wheels out there.

I don't want to spend $1000+ on a steering wheel. The CON2R wheels range from mid $300's to mid $400's with all the bells and whistles.
Our wheels here are limited to Holden and Falcon and English cars.I did check the Holden HR wheel but once again the diameter would need to be reduced. Also Pearlcraft who do this and modified my Hudson wheel will now only do pearl finish not painted.

I had a 60's Falcon wheel on my channelled 29 back in 68 and they are huge.I changed that to an Ansen style wheel to get a better diameter.
Have looked at them again and the Covico but keep going back to the CON2R.

I think you misunderstood my point. $1000 for a steering wheel is nuts. I was referring to the price of the CON2R wheels. With my budget, that is still a little spendy. However, what I was trying to say is that if you like the looks and feel of the CON2R wheel, and it's what you want, then go for it. I have looked at them many times and think I could be very happy with one in my hands. Trust your gut instinct...you know what you want, and will likely be disappointed with anything else.
