Hello experts, I need to know if the steering wheels are interchangeable betwen 57 - 59 Chevy. I want to install a 59 Chevy steering wheel in 57 Chevy.

In what years the same steering column of the '57 was used?

  3. I think, all chevy steering wheel splines are the same from early fifties through the late eighties........there might be exceptions.

Yes I'm running one on my 57, It fits on the stock shaft. I now have a 70 Chev. truck tilt column in the car and it is on that.

  6. That has always been one of the most popular steering wheel swaps for many years. I had one on my 56 until I decided to put a 61 Impala wheel on it because so many people used the 59-60 wheel that I wanted to be different.

@56don: That is very interesting, I did not know that. So many others had the same idea in the past? Seems to be an obvious thing to use the '59 steering wheel.....

  8. 61 Impala wheel will fit in a 57...

  9. When I put the Buick in my 47 back in 61, I put the Buick wheel on the 47 column. Perfect fit.
My avitar has a 61 Pontiac steering wheel. So it isn't just the later Chevy wheels that fit on the older columns.
