  1. I too, stopped by the The Rodder's Journal Booth in Louisville. I had never met Steve before. I introduced myself, shook his hand and congratulated him on making it back. Steve offered me the latest copy. I thanked him and told him no thanks, that I had recently read it was in the mail. He smiled and thanked me for that.

  2. ......Spot on. Perfect analysis of the world today.

"I have a lifetime subscription and have not seen Jack S$%@ yet same address for 46 years I personally think it a RIP OFF last chance money scam. I think they have a better chance of seeing the Raising of the TITANIC"

If you would kindly take the time to read, you would realize there is no "they". It's one guy trying to get back on track. There are only 24 hours in a day and one man can do only so much. If you are a Lifetime Subscriber, you are not being asked for money. What have you got to lose by being patient a few more weeks? Since LSs got a few issues, what are we out, $100? You've got a lot of anger for $100 in the game.
When your Issue 85 arrives, will you come back and admit you were wrong? I think I have a better chance of seeing the raising of the Titanic.

I stopped at their booth at Louisville, visited with a lady there, bought a couple of tee shirts, looked at the #85 but did not even ask about my sub. Stupid.

  10. I’m very excited that I’ll soon be getting another Rodder’s Journal to add to my collection. I have a lifetime subscription like a lot of you guys. My Hot Rod mentor turned me onto TRJ about 15 years ago. He handed me his entire collection and said that I should read every one of them at least once, and I might want to read a bunch of them many times! I then subscribed to the magazine, and then when the Lifetime Subscriptions were offered, my wife was on the phone for hours till she got me one as a gift! Then last year my mentor asked me if I wanted to buy his complete collection of TRJ, including two #1 issues. So I now have a problem that I’m thinking might actually be a good one. I have a suggestion for Steve that will help me and will help him maybe and also all of us that also want to know how we can help TRJ be a success. I’m asking Steve to maybe setup some extra subscription for those of us who are Lifetimers where we can get an extra issue with the 2nd cover. I’m willing to pay for it, it could just be a bit cheaper by shipping both issues in one mailer. Save me the extra postage, Steve gets one more subscription. And I get to keep adding issues to both of my collections. Win-Win for all! Please be gentle in your replies!

  11. Any of you haters got an extra issue 1 and 2 I’d be happy to take it off your hands…need em to complete my set…

Thanks Hemi32 for posting up the email blast - I am a subscriber but like many others I didn't get a email.

Communication with and from rodders journal is and always has been a problem for many.

That said good to hear that it is back on the rails

  13. I’m pretty sure (or not lol) we had to sign up for the newsletter from their website whether you were a subscriber or not.

I’d contact them in a few weeks when they start accepting calls and emails, and request to be signed up for it.

Got my email from RJ today, guess that means my sub is still good?

  15. Steve told me he’s currently sorting out the customer record files, and upgrading the software, and will ship out subscribers’ mags, and merch orders out as soon as he can.
I had a 1 year sub at the time and ordered 4 back issues, which I’m patiently waiting on as well. :)

  16. ...Great point, Scott. And I'm guessing that most of those complaining about not getting the update e-mail never bothered to sign up for the newsletter.

I'm in the same boat. I was excited to hear the news but I am concerned I won't get it since I need to update my address.

For less than $10, you could send a Certified or Priority snail mail letter which would acknowledge delivery and receipt. Still might not enact your address change but would let you know someone got it.

So if you got the email that means they have your subscription info or no?

  20. I haven't received a e-mail and yeah I checked my spam folder, but I know Steve is a one man dog & pony show right now and and can only do so much, frankly I don't care about the e-mail, I'm looking forward to finding TRJ in my mail box. HRP

  21. I imagine you would be able to contact them in a couple weeks via phone and the email listed in the newsletter. At that point you can give them your new address. Or mail a letter to the Denton address to get it to them sooner.

  23. The email I received stated that he hopes to start catching up on emails and phone calls in a few weeks. I wonder if you send an email with "Urgent Address Change" as Subject, it will get addressed promptly.

Yeah, I'll let him get back on his feet. If need be, I'll order the new issue and get it straightened out later.

Had the pleasure of spending 2 days with Steve while he photographed my partners 32 for RJ and some of our other cars. He was moving from the west coast back to the east coast at that time and he had his hands full. Glad to hear things are now coming together for him and RJ. Love his work and got to see him do his magic up close. We’d love to have you come back to Florida for another shoot at our shop 9A72119C-21AE-49FD-A33F-5F7059D01FAB.jpeg 9A72119C-21AE-49FD-A33F-5F7059D01FAB.jpeg 16C9BC20-ADF8-41A5-8896-44C13D0868E4.jpeg 6E0E1EC3-03B9-4607-8563-073772344D44.jpeg 6E0E1EC3-03B9-4607-8563-073772344D44.jpeg B4C71569-5ACC-4565-BE80-D0465DAC1409.jpeg 16C9BC20-ADF8-41A5-8896-44C13D0868E4.jpeg 9A72119C-21AE-49FD-A33F-5F7059D01FAB.jpeg

I got the email. I really can’t remember if my subscription was current when things went sideways - I sometimes bought from the newsstand before I got off my ass and renewed. No matter, I’ll happily pay for a new subscription if it helps Steve get my favorite publication on solid footing.

We should congratulate Steve for doing the right thing, fighting to survive, and weathering the storm.

  29. Steve burned a LOT of bridges through lack of communication. It is a good lesson to ALL of us how fast things can go South. It is easy to get behind these days with lightning fast digital interactions and transactions, I know, I am selling off most of my OT collection of toys. Glad to see the course correction and to have TRJ back! I have not subscribed in many years to any mag,, (our rural carrier hag destroys anything of value) I enjoy making a stop at the bookstore and grabbing a current issue. I will watch for the new issue

TRJ won't be available at book stores according to the email. Might want to get a post office box. That will teach her.
