Well I really wish I could report that my issue 84 and 85 had shown up here in Canada however nothing so far.

I have to say that as a lifetime subscriber who was very hopeful for better things this time around as we approach the end of October in the near future I’m pretty disappointed.

Maybe they will show up before Christmas but right now I won’t hold my breath.

Still trying to be faithful and supportive but it’s not easy.

Count yourself one up on that one, I didn’t even get the email.
And it’s not like he doesn’t have my email address, it hasn’t changed since I signed up or from the last time I emailed to report a missed issue which was then sent out to me.

The lack of communication has been, and remains inexcusable. Subscribers sent money and they deserve answers, it’s as simple as that.

Not untrue. But only two situations exist. One, foreign issues haven't been sent. Or two, they've been shipped and international mail-meaning the good postal folks in your own country-haven't delivered them yet. either way, you have no TRJ but it may not be Steve's fault. one man's only got 24 hours in a day, but it would be good to know at some point.

  10. So every post office in every city where every international subscriber is located is the more likely issue than TRJ has screwed the pooch once again on international subscriptions?

I just had some lathe parts mailed from Illinois regular mail. Took one week.

It would be odd that all the international post offices have conspired not to deliver them, some international subscribers would have had them by now. The truth is they have not been shipped!!

I don't know the truth any more than you do. And it doesn't really seem like Steve would bring back TRJ from the dead and then decide to screw just the international folks. I also don't know how international shipments are made, but I suspect that there is a third party company that funnels the international copies into various channels. So one bottleneck could screw up many post offices. I guess I have many more things going on these days than to worry about missing magazines or merchandise, but, truth is, my issue came so I hope you get yours, too.

With respect you got your issue 85 because you are in the US, international subscribers last issue was 82 so I don’t think a third party shipping company excuse can be credible can it?Clearly Mr Coonan is happy to take our money and not supply goods that we have paid for.

Sad part is there is no way International customers can get a real answer from Steve. The phone numbers listed in page 5 of this thread do not get to Steve . The toll free number is full so no message can be left , the local number is for the Hot Rod Garage that has a building beside TRJ. They are getting tired of phone calls about TRJ inquires , but had no phone number for Steve. In August it was implied that their were issues 85 & 86 available for international customers & they were at the shipper trying to ship both at the same time. That has not worked , so just send us at least one issue , send out another email blast explaining what is going on , give us a phone number that works ..... something ..... TRJ is a great magazine , I want to continue subscribing , but honestly I am tired of learning about how everyone is getting there copies but Internatinational customers are not , we were informed in August ..... August and still nothing .... it is not the mail system .... I understand Steve is a stand up guy ...... so ... let your international customers know what going on .... we have been patiently waiting for an answer .... now is the time to at least give us one .... I know there are members on here that are in contact with Steve so hopefully you may be able to at the very least give the international subscribers an update .....

Same thing here. I subscribed right before they shut down & received my first issue on that subscription. Then TRJ had a special subscription rate & I extended my subscription. I did get my first copy on the first subscription, which was issue #84, but have not seen anything since then and I live in Texas. Interestingly, other hot rodders in my group received their copies of #85 several weeks ago.

I still haven't received any new issues here in CA. No answer to my email weeks ago either. I hope it all gets ironed out.

Don't worry soon someone will be posting about how great he is and a real standup guy. As far as those who say it's no big deal, well I better not get into that.

I dont understand something...maybe ryan can shed some light. I bought issue 85 on ebay, talked to the guy selling. He knows steve and has been a dealer of his for a while. (It was marked up above retail) if that friend of steves can get stacks of issues, it seems to me that the guys on hamb especially ryan have been pretty good to steve. I guess i just dont understand why steve cant get someone in his ear to jump on here and handle the 50-75 guys complaiming? These copies exist, theyre being sold on ebay. Just seems like a very solvable issue, at least as it pertains to hamb members

  20. I don't care if delivery is delayed to us International(some Lifetime) subscribers, just let us know that you're working on getting them out, and give us a date. Or confirmation that they are coming. Even a note once in a while.

Supposedly the vendor who sells TRJ will be receiving them this or next week. Can’t buy off the magazine rack any more. Another vendor has tried to contact them to be a seller but still hasn’t received any reply... I’m about ready just to write off the whole thing.

    TRJ Update and #85 Announcement

    Greetings from The Rodder's Journal!

It has been sometime since we have sent out a Rodder’s Journal email blast to you, but we are excited to announce that we are in full swing and working hard to get back on track. It has been a tough road getting back to this point, but we’re confident we are headed in the right direction, and we are excited about the future.

You may have heard that we debuted the new issue, TRJ #85, this past weekend at the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. First of all, we would like to thank everyone for the positive and supportive reception we received. Thank you to all that took the time to stop by.

We’d like to give you a quick run-down on where things stand without going into too much gory detail. You will be able to read more about all of that in the Editorial of TRJ #85.

But, first off, we do want to thank you for your patience, and your continued support in all of this. Failure is not an option and we have never faltered in our efforts to continue with The Rodder’s Journal. It has been a tough couple of years and many challenges lay ahead, but we firmly believe that we are well on track to bring the Rodder’s Journal back to its former glory.

    • As mentioned above, we debuted TRJ #85 at the Street Rod Nationals this past weekend. The response was overwhelming and at times a little emotional, we couldn’t be more excited to get this issue out for all to see. Again, thanks to all that stopped by.

    • Rodder’s Journal #85 is at the mailing house ready to ship. It will ship out to all current and Lifetime subscribers in the next few days. At Louisville we were asked quite a few times if existing subscriptions including Lifetime subscriptions will be honoured and the short answer is yes.

    • For those of you that are not subscribers and prefer to pick up your copy in person. We will be shipping our Dealer copies over the next few days as well. We will not be going back to the large retail newsstands at big box retailers, so check with your local hot rod shop or independent book retailer in the next couple weeks to see if they have it in stock.

    • Our idea was really just to get an issue finished and out to you, so a lot of the logistics such as customer service phone calls, emails etc. are on the back burner until we have the capacity to handle them all. We expect that in a few weeks we should be able to start taking phone calls on the same 1-800-750-9550 number as we have in the past and answering any query emails at customerservice@roddersjournal.com too.

    • We are also rebuilding the website from the ground up. But all of this will take time. We will keep you posted as we make these changes.

    • We are also working on the previous orders that have not been shipped yet or were returned to us during the pandemic. Most of these are accounted for and will go out in the next few weeks. We apologize for the delay on this, but we do plan to get everybody what they paid for.

    • On the International front, we know that the vast majority of subscribers did not get TRJ #84. We now have enough TRJ #84s and #85s to go to each international subscriber and they are at the mailing house ready to ship. We hope to have these out in the coming weeks also. Due to being two magazines, we are looking at the logistics of shipping both together, so this may take a little longer. We are also altering the procedure to hopefully ensure that the vast majority of subscribers actually get the magazine.

    • We are already in the midst of producing TRJ #86 and it’s beginning to shape up into what we think is a great issue. We’ll bring you more details of what to expect soon.

We are still rebuilding from the ground up, so it will take time, but you can be sure that we are working as hard as we can to get TRJ back to where it once was if not better! We are sure that this email will raise as many questions as it answers, but we believe it is a start towards continuing to publish what we believe is a quality hot rod and custom car magazine and solving all of the problems that we all have encountered over the past couple of years.

Once again, thank you for your patience and support. We will try to keep you all as updated here as possible.

    Sincerely,
    The Rodder’s Journal

  23. I would have to say at this point that the 3 years of "figuring out the logistics of shipping international orders" is in reality they don't have enough money to do it. There is no way they are the only magazine company in the world that can't figure out how to ship internationally.

I dont think its been 3 yrs of trying to figure out how to ship. More like 3 yrs of shutting down, starting back up, trying to get it back on its feet...

  25. They strung along international buyers for over a year with the same "figuring out the logistics" excuse before they closed down. Now they have done it for another 2 months this time with zero indication they have shipped a single thing outside the US. You can only go the the well so many times with the same excuse before it becomes obvious it's bullshit. Every other company in the world seems to be able to figure it out but not them?

I read a message or post steve wrote where he explained that. They had pallets go missing internationally is what i believe he said. I dont know though. I know i really dig trj, more than most mags today although it has the pricetag to go with that!

  27. The claim was they had an issue in one country, Australia. Then for about a year they claimed they were working on shipping to everyone else. Guess they still haven't figured it out.

It's only a great magazine if you actually get it.

And sadly enough I am starting to think that despite my best hopes otherwise that my lifetime subscription has reached the end of its rather short life. :(

Maybe TRJ should talk to Cornerstone Registration , they seem to understand how to ship the Early Ford V8 Club of America " V8 Times " Internationally , you can also talk to them & get an answer if their is an issue.
All the international customers are asking for is simple answer , are & when are you shipping them ?
Not a hard question to answer ..... it has been almost 4 months to figure it out ... just saying ..

There are people on here that know and talk to Mr Coonan and they as well as him are fully aware of just what is going on with international orders but they chose or don’t want to drop their buddy in the shit. Just tell us the truth please
