It sounds like he knew he was sick as their Facebook page say he made arrangements to make sure the business is able to continue on.

How sad. I met him many times and did business with him. His incredible garage was just in a magazine I read. May he rest in peace. Life well lived.

God bless Steve what a pioneer in Hot Rodding.
I purchased this body from Steve in 2020 and feel blessed that I did.
His company will no longer build these I am told.

So sorry to hear. My brother worked for him for awhile. My '34 quarters, decklid and more body parts came from Steve.

Sad to hear, he brought some great stuff to market and built some nice cars.

Their website says they have 10 roadster bodies, and that's the last of them. Sounds like no more repro 34 stuff to be made? Hope they continue the legacy.

I saw online that one of the hot rod companies in CA was selling the last of the real steel 34 roadsters SAR made. I now know why. I always thought about adding his steel fenders to my roadster but never got around to buying them just to sit them in the attic till someday. Hopefully SAR survives in one fashion or another. Last time I was out there I saw more Corvettes than hot rods. The last 2 vettes I saw at GoodGuys this year were amazing. Sadly, they can't be posted here.

Sad to hear. His shop helped a lot of guys with their repro sheetmetal.

I met Steve at an open house they had at his shop years ago. His shop is maybe 4-5 miles from my house, and I drive by it often. He seemed like a great guy, and the shop is very big and well equipped for the work they do. Glad it will stay in business in his absence.

Sad to hear. I bought a lot of his products when I was building my 34 5W. He helped me get an interior header panel for my car. We had talked about some of his future ideas for parts as well. His parts were first class and service top notch. Thanks for all the help and RIP my friend.
