it gets better at the end. My daughter writes for the local weekly rag in Ventura. Last Thursday she came over for dinner and while here mentioned that she would be spending the day with a local author that she was writing an article on. They would spend the day together and visit a museum that the author was giving a talk at later this month. I acted like I was interested because I'm a good dad. On Saturday she came by for a visit and I asked how the interview went. She said the author talked the whole time telling her stories about her life and that when they got to the museum they had a complete tour, including a trip through the basement to see the exhibit material that wasn't being used at the moment. Still being the good dad I asked her name and what museum. Louise Ann Noeth, aka "Landspeed" Louise and the museum was the Petersen Automotive Museum. HOLY SHIT!! Now I'm interested, tell me more. Louise will be giving a presentation at the museum on Thursday, April 29th, "A Supersonic Showdown: The Speed Battle to Mach One" and the daughter wants me to go with her as a guest. I think I'm free that day!! Never can tell what will come your way.
We were just discussing the land speed record a few days ago. Here's the article that I wrote about the race to be the first to officially break the sound barrier in a car: http://www.roadsters.com/750/
