I remember em being under the deck lid here in Motown. Open the trunk and there they were. I used to use old muscle cars as daily drivers, several had this done to them. Anyone else remember that?

I agree with the comment that old school water slide decals are the best. Tough to find them anymore. My first hot rod, back in early 60s was adorned with the Giovanni cam girl astride a camshaft until my mother saw it! Would put that on my '40 quarter window if I could find an inside mount one.

I think with restraint stickers/ decals have their place but I never cared for them under the hood. In the early 60's here if you didn't have a large Clay Smith Cams Mr. Horsepower decal in your side or rear window you just didn't "get" it and even if your car was "stock"it was a badge of honor that you proudly displayed. Now when I glance at the small one on my toolbox I'm flooded with the great memories of being 16 years old and having my own wheels. Good times.:)

hate to be a stick in the mud but most if not all of those belong to the owners of the companies. They are known as intellectual property. Coker owns Honest Charlie's Speed shop. I'm pretty sure he might have something to say.
You making them for yourself might be OK but selling them could put you in a sticky legal situation. Not any different than the guys who take stuff out of the Friday art show and turn the art into products on EBAY....................just ask Norwell about that............or maybe Spike Kilmer or Slim Pickens. They have all 3 experienced having their stuff taken.
Just a word to the wise

The car has to look the compe***ion part. I think they look best on a mid 50's drag type sedan in the side quarter windows.
A lot of sticker use has become cliche' and way over done-especially "surf" woodies with the back windows covered in the same maxresdefault.jpg repop vintage decals, surf boards on top....

Some companies include a sticker in the order when they ship parts and I have a file cabinet drawer full of them. There are enough Speedway bumper stickers to completely cover a fair sized car. Quite a few GM Performance and MSD stickers too. I don't put them on my cars. I also don't buy T-shirts that advertise products, if they give me one I will wear it but I won't pay to advertise for them.

hrm2k is right. It's called Copyright Infringement. Be careful, or you will be getting a letter from Moon Eyes and Cokers attorneys.

  10. They are cool if you have the **** to back 'em up otherwise you are what we used to call a sticker racer. ;)

I personally never ran them or not very often because by my way of thinking if I am advertising for *you then you owe me money. ;) That said I have always liked the woody woodpecker with the cigar and have never owned a clay cam. :D

*not you personally but you catch my drift right?

Decals or stickers, STP had a big promotional push on in the sixties, their rep gave our gas station handfuls of STP stickers to hand out, and they were peel and stick vinyl stickers. I don't know when vinyl stickers started but they were definitely available in the mid sixties.

I have had a RATFINK sticker in the back window of every car I have owned for the at least the last 20 years. think maybe Dennis Roth would cut me a check?

  13. I always used to get two sets of Surfer feet and make *happy feet out of them. :D

Dennis will more likely sue you then pay you or at least make you prove that it is liscensed roth material. ;)

    * happy feet 10 toes up and 10 toes down for those who are uninformed and lack imagination.

funny you would say that as I do have an unauthorized one on my motorhome. it is bigger and one of those that is just the black outline with no background. he can't sue me because I don't have any money.

as for Happy Feet, EELCO made a shift knob like that. I had one and got 60 bux for it on ebay.

I'm pretty sure that all the decals we see on professionl race cars today, are bought and paid for by the manufacturers to get them on said race car..When I worked for a well known hedder co,I asked a good personal friend,to put our decal on his car( a well known beer sponsored funny car) He told me,Yes,I will run that decal for $5,000 big ones.
